How to Power Cycle Your Laptop
Step 1: Shut Down the Laptop
If your laptop is unresponsive, press and hold the power button for about 30-60 seconds until the laptop powers off.
Step 2: Disconnect All Power Sources
- Unplug the laptop from the power adapter.
- If your laptop has a removable battery, remove the battery. This step may not be applicable for some modern laptops with non-removable batteries.

Step 4: Reconnect Power Sources
- If you removed the battery, reinsert it back into the laptop.
Plug the power adapter back into the laptop and connect it to a power source.
Step 5: Power On the Laptop
- Press the power button to turn on your laptop.
Allow the laptop to boot up normally.
Step 6: Verify Normal Operation
- Once your laptop is powered on, check if it is functioning properly.
